The Department for Education, with Ofqual, have launched consultations on arrangements for Summer 2021 assessments.

Philip Wright, director-general of the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) said:

‘At this stage of the consultation process, it’s too early to speculate on specific details about how exam boards will work this summer. JCQ and the exam boards are continuing to engage with teaching associations, unions and other key stakeholders – covering a wide range of potential options.

‘JCQ and the exam boards will be responding to the consultations on summer 2021 awarding in due course. We will be working closely with the DfE and Ofqual to translate their requirements into practicable arrangements that support teachers and are as fair as possible to all students.’
