John is AQA’s Responsible Officer and Director of Oversight, Risk and Compliance. He joined AQA in 2011 and has since held a number of leadership positions that have contributed to the development of a broad experience and understanding of the assessment sector; this includes a period leading the delivery of AQA’s commitments to its international exam board, Oxford AQA (a joint venture with Oxford University Press).

Prior to joining AQA, he spent the majority of his career in the Civil Service, latterly working in organisational strategy and planning roles in offices of HM Treasury and the Cabinet Office.
