June 2021 series:
Following the Secretary of State for Education’s announcement that examinations would not proceed as originally planned in England, Ofqual has launched a public consultation on assessment options for summer 2021.
It will close at 11:45pm on 29 January 2021. There are separate consultations covering General and Vocational Qualifications.
JCQ and the exam boards will work with both the DfE and Ofqual on the development of the fairest possible way of assessing students. We believe that any alternative assessment methods must avoid disadvantaging students sitting all qualifications.
Exam boards will be responding to Ofqual’s forthcoming consultation on summer 2021 assessments in due course.
Guidance has been published for teachers and senior leaders on completing NEA this summer.
The NEA guidance can be found here.
Finally, JCQ and the exam boards understand the real public health concerns and stress felt by learners, teachers, lecturers and exams officers, and will continue to support you all during these turbulent and challenging times.
You can visit the links below for further support from each of the exam boards.
