JCQ Bulletin We hope this JCQ bulletin finds you safe and well.
JCQ and the exam boards continue to recognise the considerable efforts of teachers, exams officers and students throughout what has once more been a difficult academic year. We’re committed to supporting everyone as much as possible throughout the process of awarding grades to students this summer.
Quality Assurance Stage 1 and 2 update: Please be aware that emails are now being sent, on JCQ's behalf by Pearson, to centres to inform them of their completion of Stages 1 and 2 of the summer 2021 Quality Assurance process.
The email also sets out the next stage in the Quality Assurance Process, which is the submission of your Teacher Assessed Grades, these must be submitted to exam boards by 18 June 2021.
Quality Assurance Stage 3: After the window for Teacher Assessed Grades (TAGs) closes on 18th June, you will be required to provide a sample of the material you have used to determine those grades as part of Stage 3 of the quality assurance process. Details of the number of subjects and learners for each subject required, along with more information on timelines for submission can be found in the JCQ QA Addendum.
(NOTE: In centres located in Northern Ireland that deliver Ofqual-regulated qualifications, only one subject will be collected, in line with requirements of the regulator and the devolved administration)
This material will need to be uploaded to one of the exam boards; in a small number of cases, the subjects may be spread across more than one exam boards. Specific instructions including step by step guidance for using an exam board’s relevant systems will be made available to all centres by the end of the first full week of June.
As you will not know which board you will need to submit your material to until the sample details are published after the 18th June, the guidance for each AOs material submission systems will be released together so that it’s available centrally for every centre.
Special Consideration: In order to help you with the steps you should take when applying Special Consideration, JCQ has produced an infographic to help set the process out.
