January 2022 special consideration applications
We have produced a short guide to the special consideration process: Notice to Centres - special consideration, January 2022 series. This is to help schools and colleges running examinations this January, particularly exam officers new-to-role or for whom this might be their first examination series.
The document sets out when special consideration may be applied for, when special consideration does not apply, and importantly, awarding bodies’ contact details.
Don’t forget to read it through alongside the JCQ publication A guide to the special consideration process. This document is available in an interactive format within the Centre Admin Portal (CAP) which can be accessed via any of the awarding bodies’ secure extranet sites. It is also available in PDF format on the JCQ website.
Both documents can be found at Regulations and Guidance - JCQ Joint Council for Qualifications
Modified paper orders, June 2022 series
The deadline for modified paper orders, 31 January 2022, is fast approaching!
Exam officers should liaise with their SENCos to make sure that the orders will all be in place by the end of this month. These will be orders for Braille papers and/or modified enlarged papers for candidates with visual impairments. These orders are made using Access Arrangements Online (AAO).
More information can be found within Chapter 6 of the JCQ publication Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments. This JCQ document can be found at Regulations and Guidance - JCQ Joint Council for Qualifications
