Access to Centre Admin Portal (CAP) and Access Arrangements Online (AAO)

The CAP lets your centres manage access arrangements applications, request modified papers and handle consortium and transferred candidate arrangements, all in one place. AAO sits within it, meaning your centres can submit a single application per student rather than applying separately to each member awarding organisation.

Access to the Centre Inspection Service (CIS), where relevant

JCQ runs year-round inspections across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, checking secure storage, exam conduct and access arrangements. As an Associate Member, your centres are covered by the same inspection standard as every other member’s, where relevant.

Registration on the National Centre Number Register

A single, verified record of every approved centre and its key contacts, kept current so results, question papers and inspection visits all run against the same accurate data, rather than each organisation maintaining its own version.

Observer status on JCQ committees

Associate Members can join a select number of JCQ committees as observers, with the flexibility to change which ones they attend each year. These are the groups where guidance is developed, challenges are discussed, and common approaches are agreed across the sector.

It’s a window into how JCQ works and how the sector thinks. For a newer or growing awarding organisation, that kind of access and insight is difficult to replicate elsewhere.

Official use of JCQ guidance and regulations

JCQ’s guidance is the framework that keeps qualification administration consistent and fair across every school, college and centre in the UK. Experienced representatives from JCQ’s founding members developed it, and Ofqual, CCEA Regulation, Qualifications Wales, the Department for Education, and devolved administrations legally reviewed and consulted on it.

As an Associate Member, you have the official right to use that guidance and direct your centres to follow it. This benefits both your operations and your reputation.
